HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Date of construcion of the church: sixteenth century
Date of construction of the organ: ca. 1720-1740
Builder: unknown
Interventions: the organ was restored 1996 by Organos Históricos de México, Susan Tattershall, project director, and financed by the J.P. Morgan Foundation and the community of Tamazulapan. The case was restored in 1990 by SEDUE (Secretaría de Desarrollo Urbano y Ecología) and in 1996 by Miguel Villeda. 1996- new pipes made by Pascal Boissonet of Pieter Visser Associates.
